The problem number one is the Middle East.
We are in the election year. A lot of politicians are talking at the same time. Most of their din is in generalities and designed to muddle things to manipulate the electorate. We will need solutions to the remedy the immense damage done to the American image by the last two Bush presidencies.
1948 cannot be undone. Israel should exist independently and without US props.US will need to adopt a policy wherein Israel is not perceived by rest of the world as a US protectorate.
End our dependence on oil by diversion of all of our resources to develop alternative sources of energy within 10 years. Prepare US for the pain of doing so.
Stop arms flow to all Arabian and Middle Eastern countries and withdraw armed forces from all countries. It is not a US function to sow, germinate, foster or protect democracy anywhere in the world. It only makes us look like new Colonists.
Convene an international think tank to draw up a road map for economic developments to all Middle Eastern and Arabian countries. The world should loan them the best technology to build economies to provide jobs and implements of a better living. Historically it will drive all terrorism to the fringes.
An international force of 25000 heavily equipped military force consisting of only Muslims of all hues should be posted for 25 years at a place where they will have most maneuverability. This force will be given full authority to enforce the plan.
How will this be acceptable to all those warring countries and religions that have been killing and providing haven to terrorists? It will not be.
This will be the first good cop job number 1 for USA.
