Obama has momentum. Hillary has woman appeal. McCain has security credentials. Hukabee has God on his side. And the general election is 10 months away. It has to be one hell of an entertaining year.
Jon Stewart and Colbert will have a whole lot of politicians to screw around in 10 months.
Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and talk shows will lecture us constantly, mostly about their own great selves and contribution to the freedom of speech.
Lou Dobbs will keep flogging the immigration horse until it dies. O’Reilly will rant and rave about nothing of significance.
CNN, Fox, NBC, ABC and others will mint a lot of money and many movies like Charlie Wilson and Iraq war will flood the market.
Remember that the charade will go on despite US being involved in 2 wars in Iraq and Afghanistan where we lose more than 50 people a month and many more locals are killed needlessly. The borders are still unprotected and the economy is in the dumps. Gas is all time high and China is piling on us.
Long live our brand of capitalism and democracy where 2 years can be spent on election even when we are bleeding.

Too Much Politics
We are getting sick of Obama, Hillary, McCain and Hukabee invading our living rooms constantly.
We are on the verge of a recession. Rampant drug use and school violence threatens to wipe out a whole generation. The illegal immigrants stand at every street corner with impunity. We are still engaged in two wars with no end in sight.
And we are having a 2 year love fest with politicians who want to be next President of USA. Millions of dollars are wasted on electioneering in the name of democracy. Could a nation afford this when we are beset with enormous woes which are impoverishing us?
We should enact the following reforms immediately:
Primaries should be abolished. The political parties should have an internal selection system. There is no need to make a nation come to a standstill for this.
The election season should kickoff on 4th August and end on 4th November.
All voting should be on Internet and supervised and secured by Supreme Court.

McCain is good for Democrats
Bush struggled to push Iraq to back pages of media. Almost certain nomination of John Mc Cain has dissolved that. Iraq will be now front and center. The election may well be a referendum on war. This will provide a distinct advantage to democrats because of John McCain’s consistent need to please Bush and reconcile his policies with not so straight talk express.
Democrats can now focus on the Iraq withdrawal strategy. It will be a long and arduous road which McCain wants to stretch it to a hundred years. Democrats have a better record in Middle East politics than Republicans.
Americans are known for their venture capitalism. Both Hillary and Obama are new ventures and have impressive business plans. McCain is an old capitalist and will offer same old, same old.
McCain will pander to the security lobby without realizing that economy can only be boosted when welfare of people at home is at top. Democrats have been very good at that and would have many Wall Streeters to manage this.
McCain is a hothead. Hillary is calculating. Obama will use meritocracy to deal with it. Hotheads have no place in a very fragmented and volatile world. I will not discount a brawl if McCain is in a room with Ahmedinejad.
Both parties will be same on immigration. Let’s see how they do in face of many hostile media members.
It’s no country for old men and Rush Limbaugh may have his wish fulfilled.

Liberals and Conservatives
In fifties it was a great thing to be a liberal. A liberal was open to other ideas and change. Conservatives were wedded to no change and had closed minds. How did this change?
Thanks to the organized religion. Roman Catholics wanted to divert the attention from burgeoning scandals like child abuse. The Islamists aided the emergence and use of terrorism as a tool in the face of discontent and poverty to accomplish the same thing. They launched a barrage of virtual indoctrination of the general public from the pulpit of many television preachers and worship houses. They propagated that in matters of faith there was no negotiation. The world is either good or evil. All who believe and follow the holy book are good, all others are evil. When translated into day to day language, all believers are Conservatives and all who are not, are Liberals.
This blitz was supplemented by talk shows on the radio and television. Look how Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and others blasts their opponents and offer no middle ground. They went further and branded liberals as immoral and dirty. Conservatives were the pure ones.
So now we know how the Liberals were anointed as the scum of the earth and Conservatives as the defenders of faith, nation and constitution.

Nationalism is dead?
Let’s engage rest of the world and regain our reputation as a world leader. Tell this to Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin and others who have become warriors for nationalism. They are all flogging a dead horse. Some vivid examples are:
We are getting finance from all over the world to repair subprime crisis.
Most consumer goods come from China and we indebted to them up to the hilt.
We cannot run our industries and farms without labor from other countries.
US cannot make the whole world democratic. We cannot beat the openness of the world created by heightened interdependence, internet and ease of travel.
Sane Americans wants us to stop turning our friends into enemies and creating new ones.

Bush the Democrat
Bush may have inadvertently ignited democracy in United States. The intense primary season when millions voted was a shot in the arm for American democracy. Bush’s legacy of 2 wars, lagging domestic problems, no immigration policy and gathering economic storm has finally made the young voters get off their butts. This positive movement could be continued by people calling upon Obama or Hillary and McCain to clearly spell out their solutions to the following questions:
How long is our commitment in Iraq and Afghanistan?
How will we make the US the healthiest nation in the world?
How will we stop mortgaging our economic future in order to combat Evil in the world?
How will we plan our future in the face of a flat world when nationalism as we know it is dying?
How will we secure our borders and assimilate those who are already here?
Thank you Thomas Friedman and others who have inspired the young men of the nation to take the future in their hands.

Rush Limbaugh loses his brain
A few days back God took away half of Rush Limbaugh’s brain back. The one tied to his back never functioned any way. How did Rush and other media barons usurp the extra constitutional authority to manipulate the national agenda. They want US to preserve their first amendment rights and its sovereignty. I will ask them?
How are we protecting our sovereignty by waging pre emptive wars and becoming a pariah of the world?
Rush Limbaugh finds McCain not acceptable because he wants to lend more civility and bi partisanship to political debate. That is evil to Rush.
Rush has no words on our economic sovereignty when we keep on racking debt to countries that are autocracies and dictatorships. He is wedded to the extra constitutional rich who meet at Davo, Switzerland every year to manipulate national economic agendas.
How are these extra constitutional entities different than the arch non state extra constitutional terrorist known as Osama Bin Laden?
The answer is that all those who do not agree with them are Evil.
