Wailing human beings beside their ruined houses and the dead make us miserable. As it is, I am not enamored with a god who revels in human misery arising out of poverty, tsunamis, earthquakes, wars and death. We need a new god who is interested in saving human lives.
God has just appointed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran with clear instructions to obtain nuclear devices as he is not satisfied with Kim Jong Il of North Korea’s killing machines.
God has equipped Hezbollah of Lebanon with thousands of rockets to kill Israelis.
Osama bin Laden is the god’s point man for Islamists with a mandate to kill as many infidels as he can.God has placed Israel where it is surrounded by enemies from all sides and can survive by killing them in droves.
God acts through Bush II to veto stem cell research and preempt the terror by wars.
Hindus from India have orders from millions of gods to kill Muslims, and Pakistan has been told by Allah to kill to get Kashmir back.
Pro-lifers have been directed by God to shut down abortion clinics by shooting the doctors. The recreational activity of burning churches in rural America is another of God’s edicts.
God keeps on luring human beings to their violent fate like in Somerset Maugham’s ‘‘Death in Samara.’’
The road to replace God is riddled with deadly roadside bombs of Iraq fame. Yet human beings have no choice.

10 Most Ridiculous Ideas
All is fair in love and war. This adage is the mother of all ridiculous ideas .Some top ones that caught fire, gave false hope to people , killed millions , produced zealots, crusaders, insurgents and fanatics, only to be shoved in the dustbin of history were:
Gandhi’s non violence as an idea was always a non starter. Human beings continue to invent more and more lethal ways of killing each other.
Oxycontin popping Rush Limbaugh is another Socrates.
“State is the march of God on earth”. The communist phrase was totally ridiculous because the state cannot stop even a single suicide bomber.
Tearing down the Berlin wall .The good old Ronald Reagan could not visualize thousands of new walls including the new wall by Israelis.
All men are born equal. We have more than 6 billion in the world today to prove that each one is different and mostly poor.
Osama, the Pied Piper of Jihad leading his followers into bloody destruction when his own land is laden with oil and riches.
Plant democracy in Iraq and use it as an incubator for Middle East may go down as the top ridiculous idea of this century.
Free markets, globalism, democracy and capitalism are the panacea for world poverty. It is only replacing governments financed and run by mammoth corporations and oligarchies.

Need a Messiah for Mentally Ill
The most outrages offshoot of Afghan and Iraq wars is the neglect of mental health of the nation. The war churns out those afflicted with mental disabilities at a faster rate but we are also relegating them to the sidelines with more speed. Some of the most glaring injustices to the mentally ill are:
The nation is awash with tremendous wealth generated by a long Wall Street boom. The funding for the programs for mentally ill continues to be frozen at antiquated levels.
The research and development activity is at stand still. The mentally ill continue to be railroaded into treatments and programs with very restricted choices and meager outcomes.
Mental health is not on the national agenda. The pharmaceutical companies have no incentives to develop improved drugs although millions face a serious mental disability in their lifetime.
Statistical full employment in the nation has not translated into employment for mentally ill. They are still being used mainly as cart pushers. Mentally ill continue to be the huge wasted resource in the work place.
While housing of seniors and low income is booming, the housing for mentally disabled is still sparse and hard to come by.
To cap it all the lack of or inadequate treatment of 20 % of nation’s 2.5 million inmate population is a true black mark for the only super power in the world.

God's Cabinet Meets
In his opening remarks at a cabinet meeting the Almighty God expressed surprise at the American government’s claim that they are spreading freedom in the world. He had created all men free. The cabinet which included Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, Moses and Lord Krishna among others was also baffled by attempts by the heads of banana republics and pot bellied dictators to play God. In an unprecedented move God released the transcript of the meeting to press.
A calm Jesus advocated patience and said that love will win in the end. He expressed displeasure at the attempt of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and pundits who claim a direct link to him.
Moses said that freedom is good for the human soul. God interjected and said the march to freedom will have to be halted because he will not open the sea again with so many nuclear warheads and weapons of mass destruction.
Mohammed was the most vocal cabinet member. He was visibly shaken when he talked of the killing of innocents by suicide bombings and rejected the claim of Osama Bin Laden and his henchmen that they have his ear.

Survey will assist Jesus' plans for world
Jesus developed some innovative ideas about overhauling the world order that has become infested with virulent forms of terrorism and vile covert actions by governments. He sent out a survey to seek feedback from the afflicted world.
What is the distinction between a war and terrorism? Both have no control over who is killed. Is the collateral damage that kills thousands of innocents an act of terrorism?
Why is spending billions of dollars on arming armies OK when more than half of the world is mired in poverty and disease? Is freedom better than hunger? Is the freedom from war and terrorism the same as freedom from hunger?
What makes Hitler, Stalin and Osama bin Laden attractive to millions despite their violent message? Is propaganda to develop hatred for your opponent democratic? Do people use God as a pony for propagandizing?
Are the people who vote every four years better off than the people who vote less or do note vote at all?
Could a nation having 2.5 million people in jails, 10 percent of whom are mentally sick be known as the freest in the world?
Is democracy only another tool to legitimize a power grab by leaders to numb followers and control economic resources?

Bush May Surprise All?
George Bush 2 was in Oslo, Norway to receive Nobel Prize for Peace. Nelson Mandela in his accented English read the following list of his accomplishments. I wondered if any other human being will ever achieve anything like this.
All American troops were home from Iraq. They had been replaced by 10 Walmarts, 5 Home Depots, 50 McDonalds and 10,000 software engineers who were churning out at least 5000 jobs a month...
Osama Bin Laden had been persuaded by a delegation from Middle East and Carl Rove to become a peaceful man. He had settled in Mecca and was opening 20,000 schools equipped with most modern computers in Middle East.
Middle East had become the most peaceful region in the world. Israel and Hamas had joined to provide the best infrastructure in that region.
India and Pakistan had followed the USA-Canada model and free travel between was available at will. North and South Korea had become one. Palestine and Israel were hot places for vacationing. Mecca was now a place for pilgrimage for all mankind.
At home Cheney had left the government; Bill Clinton was Secretary General of UN, Al Gore was drafted by Bush as Environment Czar and Evangelists had become the biggest proponents of women’s right to choose.
I got up with a start and realized that I was dreaming. After my coffee, it dawned on me that that Bush 2 is the only politician who had the DNA to bring about the above. And he has more than 30 months to do it.
